DOING SOME HOMEWORK

I'm in the second year of Artemis, a academy for fashion, interior & media styling. After a 3-month vacation we started again last week and I can tell you, I'm already quite busy. We have to design two collections for Summer 2013 with a target called Lowlands. Lowlands is an annual festival in the Netherlands where culture is very important. The collection must arise from a mega-trend that has again been targeted in two recent trends for 2013..

I was thinking about ethnic versus metallic, just because these two are so different. Ethnic is about culture, back to your roots and purity. Metallic reminds me of raw materials and futurism. I have to develop the concept further, but it's a start. What are your favorite trends right now?
